I would buy an inexpensive headphone amp, run the click thru that. Here are a few choices from 50.00 and up.

I'm thinking about using my own click for gigs. The Tama rhythm watch I have using earphones plugged into it isn't really loud enough to hear a click above my band's volume. I'd use my new sony EX71's fontopias which go right in the ear, with a fair amount of noise isolation. What would be an easy amplified portable solution to give myself a click that can go as loud as I need? Actually, I'm not sure if those earphones are suitable. Maybe I need to use some small overhead ones. I don't want to use big closed cans if I can help it.

Hey thanks randy. So, I can take a minijack from the metronome headphone socket and into a minijack or regular jack of the headphone amp, yes? Any idea which one of those is best or do you think they'd all give enough volume? Im thinking of getting either that Rockman Guitar Ace Headphone Amp, or the C Tech Pocket Rock-It Standard Headphone Amp, or Dean Stack in a Box Guitar Headphone Amp.
I would buy the ARTheadamp personally. You would take either the mini or I think the Tama has a normal 1/4 stereo jack, but in any case, you would take the line out and if it's a mini jack put a mini to 1/4 plug so it can go into the headphone amp.

Yeah, that Art headamp does indeed look good, but, I like the size and shape of the rockman, plus, it's possibly got a belt clip on it which would be really handy. I'll have to check it out at a local shop if they've got one, then buy it from musiciansfriend, cos it'll undoubtedly be more expensive over here. But thanks again randy for the advice and the link.

I use the Tama RW with the AKG IP-1 In-Ear Plugs (the rather cheap ones) live and if I would turn it as far as it will go, I probably would fall off the stool. Even when playing loud rock stuff, I have never needed more than about a third turn on the volume control. The impedance of plugs/headphones makes a huge difference.
